1. Scope and who is responsible
This Privacy Policy applies to the SpeedTrack mobile application for iOS and Android and to www.speedtrack.app. SpeedTrack is responsible for the processing described here. Privacy questions and requests can be sent to speedtrackformula@gmail.com.
SpeedTrack is an independent Formula 1 information app. This policy does not cover websites, stores or services operated by third parties.
2. Information SpeedTrack may handle
Local app preferences
The app may store information on your device, such as language, appearance, favorite drivers or teams, widget configuration, reminder choices and other app settings. These preferences are used to provide the features you select and normally remain on your device unless a feature clearly says otherwise.
Website analytics and technical information
The SpeedTrack website uses Google Analytics to understand use and performance. Depending on your browser and the provider's configuration, this may involve information such as viewed pages, interactions, referring page, approximate location derived from an IP address, browser or device type, technical identifiers and cookie or similar storage data. Google may process this information on SpeedTrack's behalf.
App diagnostics and performance
Some app versions may use analytics, crash-reporting or performance tools supplied by the platform or another service provider. If enabled in the version you use, these tools may process app version, device and operating-system details, crash logs, diagnostic events, feature interactions and technical identifiers. SpeedTrack uses this information to keep the service reliable, understand aggregate use and fix errors. Availability and controls may differ by platform, app version and device settings.
Premium purchases and subscriptions
Optional Premium purchases are completed by Apple through the App Store or by Google through Google Play. Those stores process payment and account details under their own policies. SpeedTrack does not receive or store your complete card or bank details. The app may receive limited purchase information needed to confirm access, such as product, subscription status, expiry or restoration status and a store transaction or entitlement identifier.
Notifications and reminders
SpeedTrack may use system permission status and locally saved reminder settings to schedule alerts. If a version offers remote notifications, SpeedTrack or its notification provider may process a device notification token and technical delivery information. You can change notification permission in the operating-system settings and adjust available reminders in the app.
Messages you send
If you contact SpeedTrack, the email address, message and any information you choose to include will be processed to answer and follow up on your request.
News, sports data and external content
The app may retrieve race calendars, session times, results, standings, news or RSS content. Requests to providers can expose ordinary connection data, such as an IP address and device or request metadata. Opening an external news story or other link takes you to a third party that applies its own privacy policy.
3. Why information is used
- Provide the app, widgets, favorites, appearance choices, reminders and Premium access you request.
- Deliver sports information, news and links.
- Maintain security, diagnose failures and improve reliability and performance.
- Understand aggregate website and app use and improve features.
- Respond to support, privacy and legal requests.
- Comply with legal obligations and protect SpeedTrack, users and others from misuse.
Where data-protection law requires a legal basis, processing may rely on performing the service you request, SpeedTrack's legitimate interests in operating and improving the service, consent where requested, or compliance with law. You may withdraw consent through the relevant app, device or browser control where processing relies on consent.
4. Providers and sharing
Information is shared only as needed to operate the relevant feature, comply with law or protect rights and security. Relevant recipients may include:
- Apple, including the App Store, iOS notification services and platform diagnostics.
- Google, including Google Play and Google Analytics on the website.
- Analytics, crash-reporting, performance or notification providers included in a particular app version.
- Sports-data, news, RSS and external-link providers when their content or service is requested.
- Authorities or professional advisers when disclosure is legally required or reasonably necessary to protect legal rights.
These providers may process data in countries outside your own. Where SpeedTrack controls such a transfer, appropriate safeguards required by applicable law will be used. Apple, Google and external websites also process information independently under their own terms and privacy policies.
SpeedTrack does not sell personal information.
5. Retention and deletion
Local settings remain on your device until you change them, clear app data or uninstall the app, subject to operating-system backups. Purchase records are retained by Apple or Google according to their policies; limited entitlement information is kept only as long as needed to provide Premium and resolve purchase issues.
Support messages are kept while needed to answer the request and for a reasonable period afterward for continuity, security or legal obligations. Analytics and diagnostic data are retained according to the configured provider periods and then deleted or aggregated. Notification tokens are removed or become invalid when no longer needed, where technically available.
You can remove local app data by using available reset controls, clearing app data or uninstalling SpeedTrack. Store purchase history must be managed through the relevant store.
6. Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability or objection, and to withdraw consent. You may also complain to your local data-protection authority.
Many choices are available directly through the app, device, store or browser: notification permissions, app settings, local data removal, subscription management and browser storage controls. For a request concerning data controlled by SpeedTrack, email speedtrackformula@gmail.com. SpeedTrack may need enough information to identify the relevant record and verify the request. Requests concerning Apple, Google or an external provider may need to be addressed directly to that provider.
7. Security and children
SpeedTrack uses reasonable technical and organizational measures appropriate to the information handled. No device, transmission or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure, so users should keep their operating system and app version updated and protect access to their device and store account.
SpeedTrack is a general-audience sports app and is not specifically directed to children. It does not knowingly ask children to create a SpeedTrack account or submit personal information. A parent or guardian who believes a child has provided information directly to SpeedTrack can request its deletion by email.
8. Changes and contact
This policy may be updated when features, providers or legal requirements change. The revised version will be published on this page with a new “Last updated” date. Material changes may also be highlighted in the app or through another appropriate channel.
